Texas map collectors are passionate about their history and the mapping of their state. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has developed Save Texas History Archive Map Store in which over 45,000 maps are available online. Included is the Frank and Carol Holcomb Map Collection. The site allows search by various categories including counties.
Save Texas History as sponsored by the GLO contains digital images of its map collection which are available for a nominal price. The maps are true to the color and size of the original maps. Some of the originals of these maps are located outside the GLO, even though the GLO provides digital images. All proceeds from the sale of digital images benefit the Texas General Land Office and its program of restoring its historical maps, many of which are not in good shape.
